Definition: DB Manager is an integrated, programming environment for managing data base.
If we have to be more precise that could have hardly been called a definition because the product in its latest versions is also used as an Integrated Development Environment – IDE used in the creation of final applications.
What is the purpose of DB Manager:
First of all that is the possibility to explore, support the ability to modify and create MDB (Multimedia Databases) and tables. It is even accepted that database can be taken as a number of tables which have certain logical or other types of connections in between.
A typical feature of the product is that even XML (but not only that Document Object Model) can be looked upon and modified in the form of tables.
Form editors and final applications
With the assistance of IDE you can develop independent final applications as well to create a very attractive interface.
Server applications and bases remote from the data
Definition: Remote bases from the data are all the information units which are situated on a separate server which we get access to by the means of local net or internet.
N.B. - DB Manager communicates with the relation database by the means of drivers not directly.
Due to its specific character DB Manager can be installed either on the server (the final users operate by a browser or a specialised application as clients), or directly upon the working station. That decision is quite specific and the exact needs should be taken in mind in advance.
